Help with inner tie rod/tool
In doing a full suspension refresh on my 2002 C240 I am replacing the tie rods. I went with Lemforder after reading about others not lasting as long. My question/help is in regards to the tie rod tool. The Lemforder inner tie rod does not have a nut per se on the end for the tool to grab. Instead the outer ball joint is rounded with some flat surfaces. When I try to it torque down the tool slips. Got the tool as a free rental from Napa. Would anyone have any suggestions on what might be the correct tool for the job? Thanks much.
I'd also like to add that the forums are an incredible help. Doing this suspension refresh (front and back with Koni Sports, Eibach springs, upper lower control arms and full tie rods) would not be feasible as diy project without everyones contributions to the forums. So thank you!

I am sure MB has a special tool to the job as they have to be difficult. How much torque are you getting on them?
Love your suspension setup I hope you are going to do amg or aftermarket sway bars as that was some of the best money I put into the car.

And to follow up on the sway bar comment...yes, it's on the list. But working within a budget and first need to get the car back on the road. This C class has been a great car. Love it. It has 122K on it and hope to get 100k more.

Solution found
In case anyone finds the same issue I found a solution. The Lemforder Inner Tie Rod can take a 41mm Crowfoot Wrench.
Ordered a set from Tool Discounter:
