2005 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor
AC Compressor Rebuild
Question:
Can an AC compressor be rebuilt using new parts (clutch, coil, etc.)? I have a 2005 C230K and I don't want to pay $400 for a new one if I could just fix it myself. Any insights?

Out Of Control!!
At a labor rate of 85 USD\hr who in their right mind would do that---forgetting about all the overhead time required to identify and source the parts!!

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
At the age of the compressor, it is probably worn beyond reuse. In the past few years I have not seen a "rebuilt" compressor worth buying.
$400 is a lot, but cheap when you consider melting in summer heat.
