New Here: W203 C200 Kompressor
Hi all,
First post here, just got a W203 C200 Kompressor 2001.
Great forum, loads of information.
Working on a few identified issues on the car:
1. Brake pads change front and rear, along with sensors.
2. Changing the water pump (took of the belts and the engine is extremely quiet, with the belts on sounds like a diesel engine), the water pump pulley is all over the place.
3. Diagnosed with Star, cleared all the stored faults.
4. Star failing to communicate with ESP/ABS module. Will check fuse/connections. Already looked up replacements with warranty, worst case. Hence limp mode. Its not brake switch related.
5. What's the red circled item? I have no idea. Image below. Its making a wierd noise.
6. Took it up as a project, learning MB as I go. Using online EPC, must admit its difficult to navigate, wish it was as easy as the BMW ETK.
7. Took off spark plugs, checked all firing points perfect.
8. Pics coming soon.
I will keep updating this thread with photos and progress reports.
Thanks!

Hello there, I am guessing nobody talks to new posters here?... if I see it correctly, this is the electric vacuum pump. That is if your vehicle is supercharged, requiring artificial vacuum for your brakes to work.

MBWorld Fanatic!
An observation: 90% of new posters do not follow up or thank for the help or anything. That might be part of the reason nobody bothers to respond anymore. Other times, a topic has been discussed in depth before, so silence is an indication that one needs to search.
Sometimes nobody has an answer, so it's better to not mislead the OP.
End of observation
