2005 C230K sport sedan issues
I just bought this 2005 C230K Sport sedan and have found some issues when I returned home. First is the front and rear fog lights don't work when I turn the headlamp switch to low beam headlamps(full right), and pull the knob out the full 2 clicks. Second is the power side mirrors do not move at all when I try to adjust them with the switch. They move without much difficulty when I push on them, but the motors don't make any sounds at all when I use the switch. Third is that the left and right standing lamps don't turn on when I turn the switch to the left two positions past the "0". This was all tried with the engine running, while parked.
First issue: I have checked the front fog bulbs as well as the single rear bulb, and they all work when I direct wire them. The headlamp switch knob was almost stuck and was quite hard to pull out the first time I tried it. But I have loosened it up by pulling it out and pressing it back in 10-20 times, the lights still don't work tho. The fuses are electronic (could someone explain what that means) so I don't think I can check them. Any common failures relating to this?
Second issue: I tried to adjust the power mirrors and they don't respond to the switch. I have checked the fuses (21,22,63) and the are good. Any common failures relating to this?
Third issue: The lights that should be on when I turn the headlamp switch to the left or right standing lamp positions (turn lamps and stops lamps) are working normally when the lights are switched on. But, they don't turn on when I use the switch to turn them on as Standing lamps. I think I see a common denominator here......
I'm thinking it's the whole switch assembly, since there are several functions of a single switch not working; but I'll have to remove it and check it tomorrow.
I searched the forum and googled up a storm, but couldn't find any previous problems or related issues for this. I need the front fogs to work so It will pass the safety inspection, for insurance. Appreciate any help, thanks.

Update***
I have checked the circuits for power and ground at the fog lights, 11.9 v and the grounds are good. pulled the headlamp switch out and started disassembly, found heavy corrosion on headlamp switch circuit board in one spot.
I won't investigate any further untill I have replaced this switch. Found one on ebay for $120, it's on order for thursday next week. Will update then.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Glad to hear as well...
Now you can pull a few LEDs from the old switch and add them to where MB took them out of the new switch...I am sure a search can find it - basically you can get the indicator icons to illuminate like they did pre-facelift.
I THINK jrsmith_68 did a nice write up on it...
Here is some info...
