Reverse parking sensors not working

Hi so today I was going to reverse and noticed the reverse sensors are not lighting up or beeping they were working like an hour before but seemed to stop
Note the car only has reverse sensors apparnetly installed by Mercedes when the previous owner had it anyway I was just wondering if anyone can help me track down the problem maybe if it's only 1 sensor which can lead to the whole system to shut down ? Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Update: I checked them this afternoon and they started working again ? Strange

When you drive a high end car with all the bells and whistles and you have a technical problem you don't go to the bakery for a diagnosis, therefore, my guess is that you got a bumb signal from the gear recognition switch or one or more sensors have loads of sheep dung on the connections. Climb under the rear bumper and make sure all the connections are clean----outside of the cheap\free advice here---we will see you at the dealer soon!!
