Front fascia on comand
Hi guys, im told to fix the buttons that don't light up on my facelift w203 ive got to remove the front fascia and replace the bulbs.
What exactly does it look like, and how do you go about removing the front fascia off the comand unit.
I can see plenty of videos on taking the whole unit out itself, im just a bit worried about taking the front off and how to do, whats behind it.
Anybody done it, gone any pictures, etc, thanks.

The bulbs you seek to replace are LEDs that are soldered on. You would need to find exact type or something close to match the rest of the unit, and pretty good soldering skills.
When I bought my Comand unit one of the buttons was faded out and I just couldn't stand the sight of it...I have mild OCD lol. So I bought a non working unit off fleabay and transplanted it's fascia on my working unit. Even that required extensive disassembly...luckily I had a broken unit to practice on before taking apart the good one.
If you want, I have a non working unit with a working fascia...and one faded button on it...for a reasonable $

Honestly...I would grab a control panel, Audio20 or other unit with LED lighting in it...
Use a TWEEZER Iron...

Odd that the LEDs are failing...fading over time can happen...but failure in groups...that is not what LEDs are known for...may want to look for WHY...blown resistor/etc. that is opening the circuit.
See INFO here on "modifying" the OEM boards...and adding/changing LEDS..

I can get hold of a replacement front to take the parts off I need. My dad can solder for me.
Here is a picture of what it looks like:

What else should I be checking guys, to make sure it isn't something easier?
Thanks for your help.
