Help With No Air From Windshield Vent!
I have a 2005 C230 Kompressor.
The temperature just plummeted in my area, so the inside of my windshield begun to fog up a lot. When I turned on the windshield vent, there's very little air coming out. After a few minutes, there would be only two small clear patch on the bottom, near the vent itself, although the entire windshield itself is still fogged up. Then when I turn up the fan speed to max, I would (sometimes) hear a loud harmonic echo, like the echoing sound of a cello.
Would this be a blocked filter? Blocked duct? Worn out motor?
I thought about cleaning the intake filter and duct, perhaps even changing the filter itself. But I can't seem to find the intake filter and don't know how to access to it.
If anyone knows what's going on, please let me know.
Thanks

C230 COUPE 2003 M271
I did this job for the defrost stepper motor. The linkages were also broken on the other steppers and had to be replaced as well. This was a very tough job due to how difficult it is to reach that motor at the very back of the dashboard once removed. I couldnt reach the last screw to remove the motor and ended up having to basicly "break" it off with a chisel and hammer.
that was a few years ago and still working perfectly to this day. ~$80 in parts vs. the dealer estimate of $2700 CDN im still very glad I did the job because it was getting dangerous in the winter driving around with fogged up wind shield and frosting that occurs in the bad cold.
