car starting for few seconds then turning off!
hi all, so my girlfriend was driving my car called me saying the car was running really rough and has pulled over and now the car wont start.
so i had the car towed home, it is now saying check coolant levels and when i check the oil levels it tells me to visit the work shop, now when i checked the coolant the thing was dry! nothing at all bit weird as i has only checked it a few days earlier, couldn't find a leak anywhere
now when i tried to fill the coolant bottle all the water was disappearing ( had put a few liters in) everything i have read here tells me i could be the head gasket just wondering if it could be anything else or a quick fix, as i am trying to tell the car as im moving overseas, thanks for all your help in advance!
ps the car is a c180k auto 2003 w203

How is it not starting - does it turn over?
The coolant capacity is something like 6 liters, so if it's completely empty then quite a bit will disappear before the reservoir starts to fill.
I am afraid that she overheated it and the engine may have seized though.
