Would deleting resonator hurt fuel consumption?
Would deleting resonator hurt fuel consumption or would it have the opposite effect?

I deleted my reasonator, second cat, added high flow headers and cats, and although the power increase in my car is high, I notice no difference in mpg. How could a little reasonator delete hurt mpg :-)

Theoretically a reasonator delete would reduce back pressure and increase horsepower, thereby reducing mpg. But at best a power increase would only be slight, and hard to imagine reduction on mpg.

Sigh..
Former car was a Lexus. Was stolen and a long sad story..
When I bought my Mercedes I used my same username, then tried to change it. The forum administrator didn't respond, even after repeated requests! I do indeed have a Mercedes!

No problem was just wondering - I think that you may be able to revise the car you drive and other items if you go to the user CP.

I was under the impression that on older cars HP gains would be realized by increasing intake air flow and decreasing exhaust restriction. However on newer cars no HP gains unless the ECU is re-programed. In the past i did do all that to my 1987 SaabT but it was also easy to modify the APC box by replacing resistors, and adjustments. The result was a tire burning sleeper car that surprised many however it cost me two transmission rebuilds. I have since tried to mod a 2003 SaabT but all my efforts resulted in just having a powerful sounding car. The only mod I did to my 2006 Saab 9-3 was the air box and a K&N filter which made the car sound more like a car then a sewing machine.
