Get regulator INTO window hole
Hi all! 2002 C320 owner here!
Replacing my rear passenger window regulator, I've already got the new one in the door, but I'm not really sure what to do with it. The regulator has a screw, and a plastic tip/clip covering it, which I guess is supposed to go into the hole in the bottom of the glass window. However, it doesn't seem to fit in there, and certainly wouldn't hold it on securely as only like 1/16th of the screw goes through the other side of the window.
What on earth am I doing wrong here? I took my other door apart, and it looks like the plastic clip is spread out on the other side of the window, locking it in place. How am I supposed to do that with this?

Bit of a dumb question, but is this the same part number as what originally went into the car? I've come across a couple of scenarios where the "updated" part (new part number) didn't fit the same way the "original" part did, and required the neighbouring parts to be "updated" as well. In your situation, I would check to see if the screw itself and the other half (what the screw threads into) also got updated over the years.

Are you referencing any WIS documents? Always a trick to these things...
