Deactivating of 3RD Brake Lamp Warning
Aloha peeps
I've installed a strobe-relay for my 3rd brake light, and my old Daimler don't like it, so it comes up with a warning when I hit the brakes after start. Luckily I can hide the warning with the steering-wheel button and it don't show up after that when I hit the brakes.
I asked the MB Dealer, but they can't do it because of some safety issues....
sissies

Might be able to do it with STAR. I have the BMW equivalent of that for my e46 and I am able to tell the car to ignore bulb checks on any particular lamp completely. I have STAR too but I haven't had it on the car in a long time, and I've not fiddled with lighting options either...getting lazier as I get older lol

Yeah...I am looking around the internet for a C3 or C4, but they doesn't come cheap! And I just want to have it for me and my car. I'm not a workshop who is interested in doing stuff for others. Just like to check how things are going with my baby from time to time and of course make changes when I need it
I see there is another device called CarSoft 7.4 out there much cheaper...Have you tried it out?....or anybody else? Does it have the same functions as the STAR?

Yeah they are pricey but pays for itself...when I installed my comand HU the dealer charged me $125 to code it....and they failed. Said it couldn't be done. I bought my own and did it in 15 minutes. The few times I've used it for diagnostics have saved me from getting financially raped by the dealer.

I have a opportunity at hand...someone in my city is advertising a complete set with the Star SD C4 updated 2016 Laptop with SSD. Used just a few times and tested for $1240. Could try to make him a offer...How sounds $800 to start with?
I know I can get it cheaper from China, but have heard various things about the stuff they sell on aliexpress

I have looked for any possible change in coding and could not find an option to turn it off, at least in the w203s. I was able to do it in my w166, but that doesn't help you. I think your best option is to put a resistor (50 ohm) in parallel with your relay so the rear SAM doesn't see a break in current. You might even be able to get away with a higher resistance since that circuit is only driving an LED and that way the resistor won't get as hot. Measure the current when the light is on and calculate the necessary resistance to match it.

Will try it out, and come back with the results
