2004 C230K: No boost - P0238 CEL
Hi all,
I am trying to help out my neighbor. She had to have the engine replaced on her 2004 C230K. Someone else replaced it but when he gave it back, it wasn't running right. No boost. CEL P0238, P0172, and P0456
P0238 is related to the Boost Circuit High Voltage reading
P0172 is Bank 1 running rich
P0456 is related to the purge control valve.
The car is running in safe mode. No boost.
So far, I have done a lot of research. I looked for leaks in the vacuum piping. Currently checking the SC piping. Now I am trying to find out where the Boost Circuit is located. Also, what is the sensor in the middle of the head just above the exhaust manifold? The one on her car is welded together using JB Weld. Not sure why. I don't know what this sensor does.
I have never worked on a Mercedes so this is all new to me. Also, the guy who did the engine swap said he tried installing the original SC'er to troubleshoot when the car didn't run right after the engine swap.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
