side view mirrors

i have a 2005, c200, w203 which is running fine except for some issues that arise from time to time specially, the electronics controls. now what happens is that side view mirrors do not go up when I push the up button. it is after pressing the button repeatedly that they go up and in fact, most of the times they come down despite pushing the up button. the lights under the front doors also do not come on when I open the doors. this problem is similar to both left as well as right door and left as well as right mirror. any idea?

This sounds like a switch issue. The fact that it randomly goes up and down means the motor works. However, because it only works randomly may mean it is due to the switch or bad wiring.

I have the same issue intermittently, but only on the driver's side. Usually wobbling the switch fixes it after a few seconds. For me it happens maybe twice a year.

There are only so many parts in that mirror (switch, wire, controller) but unless this is something used all the time, it's not worth fixing imo.
