Hi all,

I was recently given (what I believe to be) an engine & tranny from an '02 C230, but have absolutely no info, other than the engine code I found: 111 981 32 351 063

Is there a way to decode this to get more info about this engine/tranny? Thanks in advance!

It's a 111.981 with a serial number of 32 351 063---there is no tranny infor---post the VIN of the car where the engine came from!!

That's my problem, I don't know what vehicle the engine came from (it was given to me as payment for a debt w/no info from the original owner)

Is it possible to find the original VIN from an engine code alone?

Isn't the VIN stamped somewhere on the engine block? I would take a look around.
