Would 2002 hatch fir a 2006 C230 Coupe?
Have fried the antenna amp (on my 2006 C230 Sport Coupe) located at the top of the hatch glass - Mercedes quoted $836 for a new antenna which I will not even consider. Was thinking of perhaps buying a complete used hatch from an auto recycler. There seem to be plenty to have but their all off older model C230 Coupes. Have found a nice hatch with the same colour but it's from a 2002. - Would it fit and would the antenna work?

Chassis number?
Sorry just figured it out - it's part of the Vin right? So my chassis number would be A865929 which should be fine.
Found a complete hatch that came out of a 2002 C230 having chassis # A379827. -- was quoted a pretty good price of $150 + tax .

Replace the whole hatch for just the antenna?
Noooo! Well, I've done this job
(the hatch, yes, search for a thread in my history about looking ghetto vs. non ghetto and the hatch for a good laugh)
...and also the antenna...or rather I sold one to a guy who did it...
and he's on this forum and also a MB mechanic, I can put you in touch with him.
The antenna can be easily replaced. There's these black plastic pieces that surround the circuit boards.
You pop them open, pull out the old antenna and slide in the new.
I have a couple antenna's laying around I'd be willing to part with....
I can test it before shipping.
Where are you located? 2006 C coupe tells me you're not in the USA.

UP-Date - Was able to remove the amp by carefully using a heat gun on the outside of the glass which did softened the adhesive . Will install in my car and hope it works.

Happy - Happy -- Happy -- remote lock/unlock now works!
Removed the antenna amp from a hatch bought for $150 from a local scrap yard.
Didn't have much hope but installed it in my 2006 C230 Coupe by using double sided tape and then wedging it against the window. AND WOW .... after more then two years of having to use the key to lock and unlock now my remotes work as they should.
As previously posted my remotes stopped working shortly after I steam removed the window tint and obviously all that moisture got into the electronic antenna and burned it out.

Glad to see you got it fixed. never heard back from you after you pm'd me. well what's done is done and the end result is good. but I certainly could have sold you an antenna for less than $150 and also I had the procedures from the factory on how to remove the antenna from the plastic enclosure without having to use a heat gun. all's well that ends well though. still curious what country you're from though. We never got the 2006 Coupe in the United States. Balance shaft issues aside I would have loved to have had a c 350 coupe with a 6-speed. It's a fast engine.

in Ontario. CANADA
Yes. I'm in Ontario. CANADA. Thanks for offering to sell me the antenna but the postage and duties would have added to the price. I'm quite happy with the purchase of the hatch because the wrecker gives a 6 month warranty with full refund if not satisfied the wrecker is Standard Auto Recycling".
