Yes it is the E-2011. Cost from local Kragens was $79 with a three week wait. I said thans but no.

Performance Products has them for $54. I am waiting for their discount coupon before ordering one.

Does the 2004.5 C230 K sedan have the same part number?
I got the K&N replacement airfilter for both my car, Mazda Protege5, and my wife's previous car, VW GTi 1.8T. The difference in turbo charged engine is definately greater, even it's an auto! So, I am assuming it will be a good thing to start the first mod..

i think i may get one if the difference is that noticable. is it more noticable with supercharged/turbo engines than naturally asperated?

I did not notice much difference with my 230 when I installed a K&N filter, but when I had my VR6 Jetta - it made a big, big difference. On my jetta the engine really came alive over 5500 rpm when I installed the K&N.

I think the impact might be much greater on naturally aspirated engines than Supercharged or Turbocharger engines.

My mother's old 760 Volvo (a Turbo engine) had plugged the filter nearly solid before we ever noticed anything. Even then, changing it did not seem didn't seem to make a huge difference in performance.

In the case of a Turbo engine - I think the Turbo just spins faster. In the case of a super charger - It’s positive displacement - I think it will suck through just about anything.

I would get the K&N anyway - it's more effective at trapping dirt than a paper unit.

I would be careful about the amount of oil used on the K&N on a Turbo or Super Charged engines!!!!

The Air Filter does jack ......unless you have a pulley, then it will give you 1-3 hp, and a slighty better sound
