What performance upgrades for 05 c230 ?
A friend indicates a new high performance air filter like one from k & n at performanceproducts.com would improve the performance of my car - maybe by 5HP ? Does that make sense and if so whats the best manufacturer to go with?

Also the best deal i have seen on a more pricy performance upgrade is the Renntech ECU Performance Chip Upgrade and larger crankshaft pulley kit for $1695.00 which brings hp to 209 and lbs per ft to 219.

Does anyone have any alternatives to getting best performance from this car?

it would improve the performance of the car... but not to the point where you can significantly feel it.

the pulley kit's probably for an M111 engine, which is pre-02's 2.3L engine. 05's have 1.8 M271 engine...

check renntechmercedes.com its for the 03 and up 1.8 engine.

it's not for C230 Kompressor... More like C200 Kompressor (164hp) or C180...

2004 Civic Si. FWD for the Win!
Renntech's pulley for the '02 C230 has not had any problems, so I can't imagine any problems with the newer engines. They're very thorough with their R&D.
