Hey, i recently signed up and I wanted to know about the Auxiliary input.
I'm not sure if his thread is still active but I wanted to inquire about adding this AUX In my Benz.
I went through all the pages on this thread but need to confirm if I can add this to my car.

First of all, I have a 2003 C230 Kompressor Sedan. This car has the Cassette player and a 6-CD Changer which is from Mercedes-Benz (Pioneer) located in the glove department.
I have a TEL and CD button on the player and I was wondering if I can use the AUX for my phone.

I looked in the glove department and noticed I had a circle for the AUX input to go through. I popped the circle piece and it looks as if I can add the AUX. But I read in this thread, some people with lower than 2005 did not have the cable harness to attach the aux cable.

So I was just wondering if I could add the AUX to my car as I have cassette player, 6cd pioneer changer and the hole for the aux cable in the glove department.

You can hack into the cassette player and solder an "AUX input" directly to the board. Or use a bluetooth cassette adapter.

I Read that.
Is their a thread I can find to do that?
Also, will soldering a AUX input effect sound quality, disable functions or anything such on the player?

It shouldn't.

Thanks for that!
Also, it notes that it removes the tape playing functionality.
Do you by any chance know if this would kill my 6-cd changer player or just the tape? Because id still like to use the cd changer which works on 89.1fm transmittor

I'm sure that it uses FM since the module under the cassette player controls the cd changer and it uses 89.1 frequency

Oh i believe you just can't imagine why someone would do that. But either way the hack takes over the Tape player function but leaves FM intact.

oh okay. Now I just need to find someone to do it for me because I read instructions and I'm not very good at soldering and I may end up doing something wrong.
If someone were to do it for me, how much could it possibly cost me?

It will not work because the models older than 2004 do not have the harness to plug the wud cord. The 2003 models will not be equipped so you can't use it, you will need to get a kit.

Welcome
I believe you don't have the option to add AUX. You might be able to solder to the CD player output, before the preamp, on the internal PCB.

Thank you. It is not so important - if it's not possible with cable only. It is good to know this - now I won't waste money on item which can't fit my car.

has anyone ever thought about using the sat input...? my aux in located in the glove box is horribly undersensitive. I have my iphone 5 with the Vol maxed and the radio itself cranked high enough to here the "hum" of the speakers

2016 GLC 300 4MATIC (previously 2004 CLK CAB)
My new GLC300 2016 just arrived. There is no AUX 3.5mm input that I can find.

I am told all the new NTG 5.0 cars don't come with the cable. The previous GLK had it we tried it. I already bought an analog car kit USB A to 3.5mm cable, but no Aux menu appeared. I was hoping it would detect if I played on full volume. We also tried one of those PC soundcard sticks but it does have software for that.

If anyone knows any tricks - I feel this is just a software thing to enable it.

I did have an aftermarket stereo put in when I got the car in 2006 but it's been removed so I'm not sure if they moved it around but the only connecters in the entire passenger side are the ones in the picture. It can't be that deep into the car can it?

By the way my car is an 2007 C230, not sure if that matters.

hello
mine is 2006 but sadly doesn't have the CD changer in the glove box, When i hit the CDC button it shows AUX Active but i have searched for the white plug and couldn't find it :S
Is it possible that that car isn't pre-wired
thanks in advance
