Hoen License Plate lights
Got these HOEN 6418 / C5W bulbs installed tonight.
www.hoen-usa.com
Here are the before & after pics:
Installation was very simple:
First remove the lens (two small screws) :
Then very gently use a pick to pull out the lens. Don't pull too hard, just loosen it up and then pull out with your fingers.
Here's the stock bulb removed:
and here's the Hoen bulb installed:
Then just simply put the lens back, screw it back in, and check out the results. That's it.

Ahh.. I see Carlos didn't waste any time after I gave him the part numbers.
But as I told him, I can't take credit for those. Props goes to MJ50 and BlakeP for those part numbers.
What's funny is I've had those part numbers for over 2 years and still haven been too lazy to order (and it's an easy install from what I understand)

- spare tire shell (fits full size wheel & tire)
- A 203 898 01 07 7c45
- $15.30
- spare tire bracket
- A 203 899 04 14 7c45
- $4.90
Installation was extremely easy. (well, I watched Carlos do it in less than 5 minutes).
First, remove the stock styrofoam shell:
This is what the stock spare tire donut & tool bracket looks like:
So take all those things out:
I guess they're for sale, if anyone needs them.
Now, I don't have a full-size spare tire yet, so the pics do not show a tire, (I will leave my stock donut in there though).
But this is the full-size tire holder; it just screws right in.
Next, place the tool bracket in the slot of the tire holder:
Then, put all the tools in there. Even though this tool bracket is smaller, it still fits all the tools:
Then, there's a little flap that closes and snaps shut to keep all the tools in place:
That's it. Again, another easy DIY OEM goodie. Now, I just need a full-size spare wheel & tire.

Drex,
I checked these parts out on my Coupe before I installed them on Z's C320 SS.
The Coupe spare tire well is not big enough for a normal-size tire.
So even though the tire holder can be screwed in, there only room for the small donut.
I took some pics to show the difference between the C Sedan and the C Coupe.
This is the top tool bracket and cardboard cover to the spare tire donut:
This is the bottom tool bracket that goes above the donut:
and this is the spare tire well (tub)... as you can see, not enough room for a full-size spare tire:

Either way, I'm glad it at least worked without a hitch on Zulma's car! I seriously need to buy a full size spare soon. Only problem is, if I get a Big Brake upgrade, I'll have to find a full size spare that'll fit without a problem.

yes, that wheel will definitely work...
She feels much safer knowing that MB Roadside Assistance can replace a flat with a full-size spare rather than one of those slow-speed rated donuts.
Peace of mind for me too, when I'm 4,673 miles away.........

Great writeup on the full size spare DIY. I did that on my sedan back in the days, but sucks to know my inflatable donut is the only option if I have a flat in the coupey. Since I have the BBK up front, I suppose I'd prefer a flat rear tire?

Would the spare not clear the bbk? Goodness... I never thought about actually fitting my full size spare onto my car since gettin coils either... anyone know if they'll fit?

No way in hell the spare will clear the BBK. Rear should fit, but never tried. I'd probably call roadside.

I received the AMG wheel. Thank you very much.
Carlos has been away for a week, and doesn't come back for yet another.
I need to have my extra tire mounted, and then placed in the trunk.
A little heavy for me at the moment.
But thanks again.

I'm pretty sure that Carlos has posted the AMG Accessory part # on his Coupe thread. It's actually a plate that mounts on the Euro-plate bezel.
When Carlos installed the lights, he swapped out the tag plates with that AMG plate for the picture. He's a show-off !

Thank you. When I was shopping for my Benz, I had the option of a brand new 2004.5 in Pewter with Free Maintenance for 4 years, or a new 2005 in a color that I didn't want. I opted for the Pewter. I also didn't like the new interior design of the 2005, although the front & rear bumpers on the 2005 were much sportier than the 2004.5.
So anyway, with the exception of the front bumper, I've pretty much had Carlos upgrade the exterior look of my 2004.5 to 2005 specifications.
If you look at the rear end of the car, the following is upgraded:
