my car is in the garage, so i can't post the pic you wanted. with regard to the bi-xenon headlights. i ordered them because i thought the car would look cooler. I didn't think about the functionality of the bi-xenon headlights. But now that I have driven the car at nights, bi-xenon headlights are a great feature to have. they so bright and they illuminate a wide area. So, bi-xenon headlights are definitely worth the price that MB is charging.

Pictures will not show you a lot, as there is only so much depth in captured light intensity. They will show you blobs of light - yellowish for the halogens, blueish for the xenons, that's it. A typical HID lamp produces 200-300% as much light as a typical halogen lamp does. Test drive a car late at night with- and without one, then decide yourself.

i concur

sure, the halogens will 'work' and provide sufficient lighting, but bix are just, well, better

that, and if I had retro'ed the bix later on, that would have been technically illegal over here, so I *had* to get it when I ordered the car :p stupid recon laws...

Once you go with BIX, you will never go back with Halogens.

My Coupe was the test vehicle for Performance Products to sell the bi-xenons, so they had a dealer install them. Their requirement was I had to let them photo shoot the car.

The salesmen needed the car a day, so we swapped cars, I drove his older S.

Next day all he could say was how bright the bi-xenons were, how great they were, on and on!

If you are young and have great eyes, you dont really need the bi-xenons. But as every one ages the eyes don't see as well at night, the bi-xenons are a saftey necessity for us old farts.

Difference? HUGE

I have always wondered about the cars in front of me, though. Do the drivers get blinded by the bright bi-xenon light ?

I agree with just about what everyone else said about the bix's...

The difference between the standard lights and bix is night and day (pun intended). The C240 loaners that I've had that had standard halogen just seemed dim in comparison to my bix's, even with my old C280 (which I thought had really good halogen's), the bix's are just WAAAAAY better. I usually like to use the fog lights with halogens, but with the bix's, there's just no need.

To quote sunman, "once you go bi-xenon, you won't go back"

i agree, trust me i love them too, i have 2 s classes with them and they are great, and my wifes old acura has them and she loves them, the c class will be for her, but if we get a car without them we can get the car this week, otherwise seems we have to order and wait 10 weeks.

the thing is, i heard u cant haggle prices if u order. im gonna go back to the senior sales man at FJ , DOlf, who sold my dad the S classes and see what we can work out, but i want to pay cash for this car and get it as close to 40K as possible,

thanks all

I ordered my wife's car from FJ and was able to haggle them down to 1K below invoice in addition to the LMT coupon. The key is to hold your ground on the price you want. The deposit you put down is refundable, and they really HATE giving you the deposit back. I asked for my deposit back twice during the negotiation, and each time I mentioned it, the price went down.

Here you go buddy. I was pissed at the stock halogens, so first I changed the low-beams to "ricer-style" fake xenons. As a reference, they were about as bright as regular halogens, but whiter. Then I got EuroSpec bix from Steve. Both of these pictures were taken at the same time of night, from the same position. Judge for yourself. Sunman is absolutely right, once you go bix, you'll never go back.

Talk with Amin at FJ, he sells more than any other salesman and doesn't mind you asking for a lower price. You don't get the be saleman of the year several times by being a jerk. I got $7,000 off on my Coupe, but had firm low quotes in hand from 5 other dealers.
