Sub install on a w204!!!

Has any one done it is it easy? what do i need? is there an output on the regular non mm headunit? is it fiber optic what do i need if it is?

Just get a rca pac and an amp wiring kit from the flea market or something and you're set

I have a rca pac that I'm not using pm me if you are interested in buying it

is there a slot on the back of the stock head unit? or do i need a high low converter?.......... has any one played with the filters in the engineering menu?

pretty complicated if you dont know what your doing. i installed jl w6 v2 13" with JL 1000 x 1 amp. the hard part is to get the wires from your trunk to your battery if your seats does not fold but other than that its the same thing. and if you are using your stock deck youll need a high low converter for your speaker signal..

whats the difference between a rca pac and a high low converter?
They are the same thing. you just need a converter to drop the speaker level outputs down to line level (RCA's). unless you have an amplifier with differential inputs, like a JL audio in which case you dont need the converter at all: you can just wire direct into the amplifier.

In addition to the open questions, can a place like Best Buy or Circuit City do the install on subs for this car? Circuit City did my set up in my Jeep and did a great job...

i would rather take a 36-40K car to an actual stereo shop that specializes in just stereo components. I've heard nothing but horror stories about those places....
