How many? I'd say that these are marks left by the suction caps when installing the windows. When do you notice them? Do they show when the windows fog up?

they are everywhere IN the window.
it's like the window has smoked glass
but the white spots are where the window is regular "clear" glass.

well i notice in in bright sunlight.
not sure if that's because of the temp or just the light...
i shall investigate further!

LOL...are you wearing polorized glasses when you see them??
Whenever I wear my polorized Ray Bans, I can see the UV treatment on almost all car windows....a matrix of little round circles is the standard.

well, was washing my car the other day in bright sunlight, and no matter at which angle i looked at it, i could not see the circles.
Maybe it has something to do with the temp of the glass...?
(or maybe i lost my x-ray vision)

i have these too, in the rear and in the font. two in the rear and one if the front to be exact. they are not the circles from the polarizing sun glasses. those are very small solid circles.
these are more like rings and i do agree they are from the sunction cups from installing the windows. they usually appear when the windows fog up for me.

WHEN i see them, they are ALL OVER the back window & the circles are as big as a 2 eur coin. guess it's indeed the uv treatment...

Is this the pattern you are talking about?

If you are only seeing it through polarized sunglasses it's probably normal.
If it is noticeable with the naked eye than either MB decided to start using lower quality rear windows, or the one in your car wasn't manufactured well.
There seem to be a number of ideas as to how this can happen, I believe it has to do with the lamination layer inside the window mating up with the glass less than perfectly.
Look around at other cars - the pattern can be very commonly seen in vehicles with cheap rear glass.

Oh, that. It's rather common with polarized lenses. Although I've only ever seen it from the outside. Usually when I'm driving and seeing the windows of other cars.
I've also seen it doing car photography with a polarized lens filter. I'll just twist the filter alignment to get rid of it. In that photo their is glare showing on the window, so the polarization isn't oriented correctly there.

There is nothing wrong with the glass and it is normal. It has to do with the tempering of the glass. Under certain light conditions at just the right angle you can see the spot pattern. Move your head slightly or the sunlight goes behind a cloud and the phenomena disappears. It is how light gets scattered, twisted and reflected by different materials.
Kind of related to the display in a car. You might be able to see it pretty well on a sunny day, yet you put on a pair of polarized sunglasses and it might be very dark or almost unreadable. That is because the manufacturer makes a compromise so that for the majority of conditions the screen is very bright and readable, but under juuuuust the right condition or with maybe a certain brand of sunglasses it would be very tough to see. It will never be 100% perfect under all conditions.

This is normal. I noticed it on my last vehicle and on my current W204 as well. Most noticeable right after I wash the car for whatever reason. It's never bothered me, as the posts above indicate, it is only noticeable under just the right conditions.
