Staring into my garage.....sympathy please :)

So after 18 months of research (thank you to all members) I purchased a 2009 C350 fully loaded. With less than 100 miles on the car I hit something on the freeway at 75mph, looked at my rearview and saw what appeared to cardboard flying in the air. Phew I thought, no big deal.

Drop off the car to have the clear bra installed. Go to pick the car up and the installer tells me that I have some damage on the front end of my car....and I think about the "cardboard" I hit the day before. But guess what???? He installed the clear bra OVER the damage!!!!

After fighting with the owner for a week straight, he finally agrees to pull off the clear bra and he will reinstall a new one after I get my bumper painted. So I had my bumper painted ($750) but the real kicker is I have to wait 4 weeks for the paint to cure before they can reinstall the clear bra. I am now at week three of staring at my beautiful new car in the garage (I don't want to drive it and get chips in the new paint). The clear bra is reinstalled on the 15th....I can't wait to drive my car again.

This is so painful......but this site helps me pass the time.

It'll be well worth it. Nothing kills the look more than tons of chips in front. Clear bra was one of the best investments I made.

I agree, it will definitely be worth the wait. You're being smart and patient which has to be hard, so props to you for that.

As Azn said, the clear bra is probably the best investment you can make right off the bat. I paid a little more and had mine done at the dealer because I didn't want to drive it across town because with my luck the same thing would of happened to me.

Maybe you can sneak in a few more mods this week? Clear side markers or ??

That is what I was thinking. I need tint bad..but that requires a drive as does the x-pipe. Too bad I wasn't shipping my ECM out for tune, but I haven't made that decision yet.

Maybe the clear markers will help distract me for the next week or so....

If the temp is cooler, loosely apply masking tape to key areas of the front if you want to drive it. If you apply the sticky side of the tape to a shirt first, it will pick up some lint and lose some of its tack. Take it off at the end of the drive. Don't tailgate either.
