Found a coupon last week through Mercedes Benz of Monterey.

They have a Service A Coupon for $198.88 + tax & Disposal
They have a Service B Coupon for $298.88 + tax & Disposal

I called Autobahn in Belmont, CA To see if they would price match this coupon for service B and they said they would. Expires 5/31/10

Can anyone recommend Cert Indi shop in Chicago Land area or a reasonable local Dealership ?....just trying to find a good place for oil/fluids and filter changes ....

do it yourself. should take 30 minutes. use mityvac plus 7201.

Yep I think I'm going to go that route , I got a friend who has a shop and can help me ....actually we will use the drain method with a new plug/washer used .....

Los Angeles area need a coupon for B

I would like to ask if I take it to local auto shop have them do whatever service B does, are they able to turn off the indicate service B warning light after that ??????????

WOW, I never see any service specials and coupons in my area. May be we only have a handful fo dealerships here and they are far in between, no competition.

the other idea is to ask MB dealer to list what's on A and B, and just ask for them a la cart. for example, 1/2 the items of A and B including inspection and rotation of tires were either already done on my prior repair service or my car can't even rotate tires. Also, I think replacing wiper blades were $120 and part of B - but if you already got it done, MB will still charge you for full B unless you just ask. My impression is that B is just oil change PLUS adding the air cabin filter change. The only question I'm still unsure about is whether transmission fluid change is at 39k ONLY - or EACH 39k miles.

that is basically service A for $99. Do they reset the service nag?

edit: i just spoke with my dealer and they say to reset the service indicator they have to do the entire A. But they have an "express service" for $189.....it is just a Service A done while you wait, no rental car. I dont know what other corners they cut.

I did my service B from Fletcher Jones in Newport beach, CA and it was decent. Though I do not know much technical details but the customer treatment was good.
