Levelling sensors
A few months ago I checked where you suggested and there was nothing to be found. The level sensor was on the front of the car, driver's side. Accessed it from under the car.
In my case, I have a 2008 C300 with P2 which includes the factory bixenons. Built in Germany for US market and delivery. They started misaiming after the startup leveling routine. Found that this strap connecting the sensor to some other part had slipped off. Only had to push it back on. Then good to go.

I am going to drop by my dealer tomorrow and will question the service manager about it.
I can't see how just a sensor on the front suspension could detect a drop in the rear to depress the headlight reflector.
Well, maybe a radar altimeter-like device. Maybe not.

Hate to bump this old thread... but, I just did this myself, and thought it might help to mention:
The standard headlights on the C300 are adjusted for height by the white plastic screw/nut device found just behind the headlight assembly. The easiest way to adjust them is with a 6mm hex wrench. Turning counter-clockwise raises the beam... and, as you might guess, clockwise lowers the beam.

So, we know how to move the "beam" up or down. What I would like to know is how to move the entire assembly in or out. My driver's headlight sticks out farther than the passenger's.

If you look at your headlight there are screws that hold the housing to the front of the car. They are torx I beleive, but theres little play in them. You might have to expirement with moving one out and the other in to get them even, theres prob not enough play to make them even by doing just one unless its slight. I had a tough time on the last car when I removed the headlights and lining them up was a pain in the a**

I just took my C350 in this AM becaue my passenger side headlight was pointed so high and to the right that, at night when I passed Semi-trucks on the left,on the interstate, I blinded the driver via their side mirrors. I kept getting flashed by them to lower what they thought was my hi-beams. Alas, no high beams on.
i did notice when I first turn on the car the driver side headlight was adjusting, but the passenger side was static and never moved. I am guessing this is what is wrong with it. I will post and let you guys know if there was something wrong or if im wrong.
Peace

Bump..
My car has the lighting package and the passenger side is much lower than the drivers. I was thinking of taking it to the dealer for correction, but if I can do it myself that would save time. This does not require SDS? Will I mess it up if I attempt to align it myself?

Just aimed mine
I have an '09 C63 AMG (W204.077) with the xenon lights. There are two screws on the left headlight and one on the right. Counterclockwise on the inside screws (height adjustment) is up. Counterclockwise on the outside (close to the fender) screw is an outward adjustment.
I read above that clockwise is up, which may be true for some. But not for my car.
