Problem with radio in 08 C300

I have a 2008 C300 with 38,000 miles on it. I just got into the car and the radio keeps turning on and off just about every minute. Also the display where the speed is has 5 white lines where it should be displaying audio as well as the tel it still shows the service and settings just not the phone or audio.

Has anyone had this problem or know what might be wrong?

Thank you for any help

Jason

Yes you have a loose connection at the CANBUS data wire somewhere behind the radio... take it to the dealer: they know about this issue...

Problem w/radio in 2008 C300

Rob13572468:

Thanks for the info, I having practically the same problems as JBailey stated.

Got my radio fixed at the dealers free of charge. Although my problem turned out to be a command center issue.

Ultimately my iPod integration kit was removed and replaced with a newer kit and some other stuff was done.

Thanks again for the advice!

Do you have an extended warranty?

No,

The dealership kindly fixed the problem at no charge because I did bring the issue to their attention whilst the car was still under warranty however, they did said they did not hear the problem at that time. This is what they told me, anyway.

They didn't really have to do that but I'm grateful they did would have been a very costly fix.

Thanks!

Hey guys, sorry to bring this post back and bump to page 1, but I was curious as to what the dealer actually did to solve ur problem.

I'm a new member, just picked up an 08 c300 last week. I have been lurking around this site for couple days now, and was hoping just to learn and not have a problem arise so soon, but today my radio turned on and off in the morning. it kept resetting itself for a good 5 minutes. Afterwards, it went back to normal. i have found no one else on this forum thus far who had the same problem except for you.

i have no warranty on this vehicle. only motor and transmission warranty that I bought extra from a used car dealer. radio would not be included, so I would have to fix this on my own.

As of right now, the cars radio works just fine, but I'm afraid because if it already acted up, who knows whats going to happen later on?

my vehicle description, 08 sports c300 4 magic, 5 inch display screen no nav. i pod integration.

thanks if you or anyone else can chime in. kinda annoying that i am already having problems with this car, and its only been a week.

EDIT*** upon further research, there was a member on here who had the exact problem, and it was due to a bad ipod integration that is a TSB. I will look into this.
