hello,

I've a 2012 w204 without auto dimming interior mirror (a shame).
I'd like to mount one with auto dimming function.
There are several pre facelift available from ebay.

I'm wondering if:
- Will a pre facelift interior mirror perfectly fit on a facelifted model?
- Will auto dimming work?
. - will I have all the plugs?
. - will i have to configure something? (do I have to go to my dealer,
. is the setting available in the engeenering menu)

I don't know about you guys but the auto dimming feature isn't that useful for me. I mean it works and all, but there are plenty of other things which are higher on my priority list (e.g. I wish I had fully electric seats).

it took me a hammer and screw driver to put in the mirrror. damn spring. took me 2 hours to figure it out before i was brave enough.

imo the ratio (utility*install easiness) / price of this mod is pretty unbeatable.

For reinstalling the mirror I'm now able to do it in few seconds. To replace it you have to push it (via tha mirror case itself (it is very solid)) in the fitment in parralel of the roof (meaning not starting put the righ and then trying to push the left).

I find the auto dimming mirrors to be extremely useful. They are standard on a damn VW Golf these days.

If you have a 2012, i think you will be losing the compass feature as I see the one picture has no display, something Benz added to all there cars in 2011.

for mine, the compass feature is built into the nice screen of the speedometer... its a 2012 model...
