C300 VS C300 Sport

Hello everyone!!

I'm looking to purchase a car in late March. I'm going for a used A5 first and chances are I won't find what I'm looking for so my 2nd choice is C300/C300 sport. I want the Benz 6 speed manual (which is so hard to find, sheesh) but if I can't find that, then I will go with a C350 automatic.

Anyway, anyone know the difference between C300 and C300 sport?

Thanks in advance!

C350 or the C300 manual. I have the manual and every time I get a loaner that isn't I get bored and a little annoyed with the way the auto drives. It makes me miss my car every time I have to go somewhere in the loaner. The manual shifts a little different. Kind of squishy. Haven't found a short shift kit yet. still trying to get some guys to make one. The stock knob sucks too. Mine has been replaced already. Good luck.

C350's don't come manual.

http://formymercedes.com/mb_results....=Shift%20Knobs - Scroll down and their are shift knobs available.

No idea on a short shifter though.

I love the 6 speed sport! It is so fun to drive. I think the only differences are the suspension, some cosmetic stuff, and wheels. The SPORT has that sportier look and also a different front grill without the Mb logo stickin up on the hood..I got just what you need right here:

The Sport also has different springs which make it about 1/2" lower than the lux. They don't make anything manual anymore. Dang shame if you ask me.

Thanks for the listing, but I want a 2011 and under 20k miles. Also, the last year they made manual was 2011.

Had a 95' 300zx TT, then a 06' 350z, it's just a forum name that has stuck with me.

Now I'm looking for an Audi A5/Benz C300, or A4 etc. Regardless, I want it Manual!

Good luck finding one. They are an endangered species these days. I'm holding on to mine till the wheels fall off.

I don't seem to have a hard time locating early W204 C300s in manuals.. for now, anyway. I can't believe they have discontinued them in the whole lineup.

Yea? I'm being picky. I want a 2011 (this year has the LED's) with 25k or below miles, and I'm located in Miami area. I also search 75 miles away from Miami and I don't see any. 4 or 5 come up with these filters but when you view the interior they are really Auto's, but the seller posted them as Manuals... Stupid dealers.

you could also just find a low mile 2009 or 2010 in manual and do the LED retrofit. its only 400 bucks in parts and then your in a 2011 look. thats what i would do, theres nothign special about a 2011, and I have one. 2011 they got rid of the ESP on the dash and its in the cluster, I HATE THAT DEAL. If your gonna bother w a newer model get one w paddle shifters it will have dynamic handling package, its awesome in a C350

I think you may find more A4's available in manual trans, as many thought of that model as the sport sedan. Drove a 1998 V6 Quattro ... excellent car.

Yea, they are definitely more available A4's vs C300's. I guess we will see

Parallel turbos on a V6 are a lot easier to control reliably, vs sequentials on an Rx7 2.6L wankel (commonly said to be 1.3L ... on Mars mabe).

This is JUST to control the turbos:

Nice diagram! I would take my 95' Z over a RX-7 or 96/97' Supra any day. Of course half the world wouldn't agree with me.

I briefly test-drove the 95 Z TT, and found quite a bit of turbo lag .. I'm sure you can compensate for it with mods.

Both the big TT supra (progressive turbos) and the single T predessor were like driving a small Hi-po V8 .. no lag ever.

I got the FD based on my weight limits, and fastination with the wankel. Also influenced when Mazda prototypes finished 1-2 at Lemans .... the FD design was based on these race cars.

I own a 08 C300 6 speed and like it a lot. Good Luck Finding one in Man Tran. Very rare, More C250 though in 6 speed. The Sport Looks wayyy better in exterior appearance. A 2011 in 6spd, I bet you won't find one. Good Luck!!

Hey, I'm sure you've got a car by now but just wanted to give you a place to go offleaseonly.com I just bought a 2009 C300 Sport 6-spd 17400miles!!! they have around 7-800 cars on their lot at any given time and just opened a second location in Miami...first one is in Lake Worth.

2011 C300 6spd manual
Funny that you posted about offleaseonly.com in Miami. I just bought a well equipped 2011 C300 6spd manual with only 3,500 miles from them.

The 7spd auto is very good but I just to happen to like the manual. Also, I do mostly highway driving so I am not in a lot of stop and go traffic that is typical of Miami.
