Another iPod question

I have 2010 C300 Sport with the MB after-market adapter for my iPod Touch. My problem is, when I attempt to navigate using the steering wheel buttons, I can scroll up and down for a few albums, and then the nagivation seems to hang up. Finally, when I hold the nav button down for a few seconds, it skips over many albums. Sometimes it seems to skip over albums even when I only press momentarily (not certain about this). At any rate, I cannot navigate smoothly and reliably. Any others with this problem, or any suggestions? Thanks.
