MBH C-Class Long Tube Headers **NOW AVAILABLE**

These days with the AMG's getting all the love We felt it would be pretty cool to offer something for the W204 guys with the M272 V6 engine. With most of our products gearing towards the AMG's (55's and 63's). We've taken our years of header design for Mercedes vehicles and put together what we feel is the best header now available for your car.

For those who don't know who MBH Motorsports is. We are a header manufacture that only builds long tube headers for Mercedes. In the relativity short time we've been building long tube headers. We've grown to the largest American made Mercedes header manufacturer. I started MBH because I was a Mercedes enthusiast and nothing on the market came close to what I felt was worth putting on my car. I wanted a long tube header system that was made from stainless steel, made big power, made in the USA, and built to last a lifetime.

With that said, I'm happy to offer the W204 M272 V6 folks a long tube header system that meets my strict criteria. Here are some specs on our header system.

  • 100% U.S. Stainless Steel
  • T-304 Stainless Steel Header Flanges
  • T-304 Stainless Steel Primary Tubes (16 gauge)
  • 100% TIG welded
  • Puge welded primary tubes
  • 3 into 1 Merge Collector with Velocity Spike
  • Made in the USA
  • Available in 1 5/8th" and 1 3/4th" primary sizes

Due to the increased prices on American stainless steel. The retail price will be set at $1895. For those interested we are offering an introductory price of $1650 for a limited time.

Power gains on our C300 (W204) test car was right at 30 wheel horsepower on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno. Power gains can differ from car to car, pending on the displacement of your M272 engine.

What kind of gains are you expecting for the C350?

I really don't know. After doing some research on the M272 engine. I ws kind of taken back as to how many configurations the engine had. You would think the bigger 350 would make more power, but I would be speculating to say it would. I feel tuning will show the best results and take advantage of the lager displacement.

i dont know much about headers but will we be able to use our OEM sensors and will this affect emissions? do we even need to worry about sensors?

How about you guys work on some headers for the 1.8 turbo guys. You know that headers and downpipes would make these little guys compete with the V6s.

I would have a set in a heart beat if I had a car to test fit them on. If my good friend (member) JTurkel comes back to AZ from Med School this summer. Its on for the C32. Since we already have a jig for the 55's Its just a matter of what primary tube we would need to delete. Since the M112 is identical to the M113 55 engine.

Forgive my ignorance on this one but by installing long headers am I voiding any emissions warrantees? I have only 36K miles on a 2010 car.

The craftsmanship looks phenomenal on these, this is exciting news seeing quality performance parts coming out for the w204.

Now, I will be that guy...Why so expensive? I bought a set of stainless Hooker comp headers for my 79 Z28 last year for 625 bucks, the titanium ceramic coated version was only 900 bucks, is there a reason other than cost of steel that you are at 1650 to 1900 bucks on these? Is there a need to recoup the design/engineering cost or something?

Again, beautiful work, I do appreciate the quality, just wish they were more reasonable...

Another round of ICE
In addition to the other two posts above asking, I would also like to know what the effect is on emissions, any relevant sensors, and warranty. I am sure the OP has dealt with these issues, as a supplier of headers, and should be familiar with these concerns.

I don't mind people asking why our headers cost what they do. The Mercedes performance segment is relatively limited. Not only from being an exclusive brand, but then the people willing or wanting to modify their Mercedes with performance upgrades. The number becomes very small. The labor and time it takes to make a working header jig is extensive and costly.

We use only the best materials in our header systems. this mean using the highest quality T304 stainless steel available. Where most header makers of domestic cars use lower quality stainless steel. In our case we use 16 gauge tubing where companies like ARH would use 18 gauge stainless steel. 18 gauge is much easier to bend than 16 gauge. In the end 16 gauge just cost more. The end result is cost of total R&D vs ROI. Meaning we would have to move X amount of sets of headers just to make our money back. I will say this, currently we have headers developed that have resulted in a financial loss. So we take on a bunch of risk when we develop and bring to market a new set of headers. I don't want to sound cocky, but There really is no other header system available in any segment for any car that is built better than our headers. There is a big wow factor when you put a set of our headers in your hand. As the craftsmanship and attention to detail is to notch.

Our head fabricator has a background in building Indy Car (IRL) headers. I'm very lucky to have him as a friend and working for me. That's also a factor as well. As a highly skilled fabricator, his employment with us is not cheap. We have 2 other fabricators as well that are also highly skilled at making headers.

I really haven't seen what else is out there for the non AMG W204's. I know of stuff coming out of Asia, but thats really it. Its pretty common knowledge the stainless steel over seas is cheaper in just about every way. These could very well be AMG headers if they has 2 more tubes. We try to build the best quality header systems and offer them as reasonable as we can.

We sell our header systems as "off road use only", like every other long tube header manufacture. We do provide places (bungs) where the o2 sensors mount. Installing these headers will delete our primary cats. This will result in an emissions based check engine light. With tuning you can ask your tuner to turn off that emissions based CEL. We have partnered up With EVOtech USA EVOtech is one of the oldest Mercedes Tuners in Germany. Thay have a tune developed for these headers or can simply turn off the emissions based CEL.

Currently we do not have a catted option available. So for a small fee you can send in your ECU and have EVOtech USA turn the code off.

These look awesome. With these headers are we looking at much fabrication to mate with our stock exhaust? Or have you designed them to be a swap and go? (an 8-10 hr swap and go that is lol)

Cat and downpipe is available , have them on my CGI for about a year. Think headers wont be that easy because the turbo is in / on the headers.

MBH makes cat and DP? and I was referring to a better flowing header/turbo manifold.

I'm really interested in this - I'll let someone else go first though! HA! I want to see what it's going to do to an emissions test and CEL's...

i know im reviving and old thread, but has there been a price drop by any chance? i have a 2010 c300 sport, just bought a magnaflow x-pipe and a straight piped exhaust with quad tips.. i think the headers would be a really nice touch to complete it and make the car sound absolutely insane as well as add some serious power. PM me when you get a chance!

thanks man
