Is my car supposed to be like this?

Is something wrong with the tiptronic system?

Whenever I downshift with the -/+ it takes literally likle a second before it shifts ? With my audi a4, its almost instant.

Please advise, it's driving me insane
Thank you

From what I have read it seems to be normal with this car and trany, i have not picked up my car yet to test this.

Audi may have DSG tranny or i think they call it S-Tronic which is a dual clutch transmission and the shifts are way faster then regular automatic.

Yes, the DSG is much more sophisticated than this sloppy Merc gear box. Even on the 09' C63 I had the gear box was not to par with its competitors

Sophisicated not really, the DSG is really a manual and the Merc is a Auto. The Merc has a better auto trans and obviously the Audi is better at being a manual.

I've been driving a CC with DSG for 2 years and i will tell you its the best transmission I have ever had in a car. It's got all the benefits of an auto although it's more of a manual that is computer controlled but who cares.

Its an awesome transmission I got in a car that is much cheaper then the Merc. So the Merc does not have a better auto transmission, the gear box on Audi even non DSG are 8-speed and so are the new 3-series.

1 gear does not play a big role and the c300 is very nice to drive still and that is why we got it but they could have put in a better transmission.

even the gear box on my 550i which is much older, is x10 better. you tell it to shift and its done before you have to think if it shifted or not!

Our car had similar problem. Ours would take a second or two to switch gears when you went from reverse to drive. We took it to the stealership and they did something with the computer. It's better now, but still seems to hesitate more than other cars.
