Hi everyone, new owner of a 2009 C300 Sport. Just wanna start off by saying the information here is extremely helpful. Thanks for posting.

I am replacing my lowbeam bulbs with HIDs 8000k purchased from Xenon Supply. I was a little heavy handed on my clip and broke off a little piece of the clip where it hooks to the car to secure the lowbeam bulb.

I called my local MB parts shop this morning and they said the clip comes with the whole headlight assembly and they can't sell it separate.

Does anyone here know where I can purchase/find just a replacement clip?

I'll post some pics as soon as I finish the install.

Wow, broke a piece off when you were trying to bend it? Anyways welcome to the forum, though your username isn't really appropriate for a Mercedes forum

I'm not surprised that they can't sell it. Maybe you can try a website that sells parts or junk yards? How much if the clip did you break off?

Did you brake the bent metal retainer or the hook that holds it in place?
What really suck is the high and low bulbs are the same, but the highs just snap into place. German engineering?

I broke the metal retainer. I just found that I can purchase just the retainer itself on: http://www.getmercedesparts.com

I just happened to break mine too.... Which piece is it exactly? I can't seem to find it..... looked all over the headlamp section and not one seems to be the right part. Not happy i broke my piece so if someone could help that'd be aweeesome.

Crap, they don't ship to canada, anyone know of a solution?

ya you were wrong and i wasted 20 bucks and a hell of a time to try and get them since they dont ship to canada. CAN ANYONE help me get those metal retainers? I really need it.

Whats the PN do you know? If you don't have it try looking it up on EPC you just type in your vin and you have access to part numbers. I am sure you could get it cheaper at a dealer in Canada. Worst case you could have someone in USA buy it then ship it to Canada but the shipping would be at least $10USD which might make it more expensive then it is worth. If you don't have a dealer close I bet you could call one up and have them ship you one. In the USA I called up my dealer and had them ship me a box of parts while I was on vacation and the closest dealer was 2 hours away.

Thanks for that link, just ordered a few since i just busted mine installing HIDs i broke it when attempting to bend the ends over per the instruction video I saw on Youtube. Im wondering if that was even necessary since the bulb is direct fit with Morimoto Elites

Hey aznbimmer and Ikester, which part of the headlight assembly do you order to get that metal retaining clip? Is it the clip included in the "socket igniter" or "socket headlamp"?

The retainer clip on my W211 E320 broke as well and I can barely drive at night since the headlamp is rattling around in there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hey, dont bother, when i ordered it, i got these crazy retainer clips that look like washers. totally not what they advertise. I just reused my broken clip and it was able to still hold.

I just spent several hours seeking out the clip to find that it is not available as most of you know. The headlight assembly comes fully assembled and this is the excuse MB provides for inability to provide. I actually found mine in the glove box (good thinking from prior owner). It is not simple to install and YOU NEED TO REMOVE WHEEL AND PLASTIC FENDER LINER to go insane trying to get it in and clipped. If you did lose your clip, you can rig it with a paper clip or something creative.
