Did entire world change turn signal stalk for 2013?

I have noticed that most Mercedes in the US have swapped the turn signal swap position with the cruise control position for 2013.

Mercedes I drove always had the cruise control as the highest stalk. Reviews always complained about this in the US, but I loved the positioning of the cruise.

Nevertheless, now that we see it has been changed, was this US only or entire world? I was a bit worried this could have been an US only change since that is where most of the complaining came from.

Does anyone have a C Class or another Mercedes from equivalent of US Model Year 2013 *outside* of North America that has also had the turn signal stalk moved to the top position?

Thanks!!

It is a global change, they are switching the positions everywhere.

Yea, I am kind of glad that they made the change because it takes a while getting used to if you're coming from most car manufacturers. However, I also noticed that the 2013 stalk is thinner and feels more plasticky, for lack of a better term. Not a big deal, just an observation.

The turn signal stock at the 9 o clock position made more sense to me. Driving at 9 and 3 is the best way to hold your steering wheel to control your car. It's a shame they changed the position.

I switch back and forth between my C300 and an Audi and it takes a bit of concentration not to screw things up. From time to time though I use the wrong stalk and have to curse just a little under my breath so I guess the change is good as it brings their controls in line with most every other manufacturer.

Yup I actually was buying 2012 before I found out it was leased and had 8000 miles on it so I drove around and brought it back in cruise on top turn on bottom. Picked up my new 2013 and opposite turn on top and cruise buttom

I test drove W204 with old-style stalks, but the car I bought has the new-style stalks. IMHO, the old stalks are way easier to use, it is thicker and more ergonomic. It seems to have better plastic quality too. Looks like MB save a few dollars on redesigned stalks.

My observation: all the loaner cars at dealership have turn signal stalk on top and cruise stalk lower at 9 o'clock position, very hard to use. My car has the opposite, turn stalk at the lower 9 o'clock position, very natural to use.
All dealership loaners are bare bones cars, no power steering wheel adjustment,
My car is rather loaded, nav, P1, power wheel adjustment along with wheel memory linked to seat memory.
Could that be the difference?
