it's probably a matter of resistor values or rewiring. not sure if the seller will actually know the technical reasons behind it.

I didn't realize the amg pre-facelift lights were quasi-LED... I'm not sure if they mean it won't fit on facelift cars or it won't fit on 2008-2011 pre-facelift cars with the semi-led lights.
There have been members on these forums with the halogen tail lights that have switched to the non-facelift LED tail lights with no issues, so the seller may just be unaware of that and just saying that to cover all the bases. I would guess that you shouldn't have a problem.

I think the problem is with c63 tail lights or if you have bi xenon it comes with the same c63 tail lights where the turn signals are red leds. The rest are halogen.

The LED tail lights should be the same between the normal C and C63, because it's part of the P2 or lighting package.

That's what I said. They both come with the same tail light with red led turn signals but everything else on the tail lights are halogen. If you have a c63 or a non c63 with bi xenon which is part of the lighting package.

I ended up canceling my order. It may work, it may not... who knows. I'm not in a rush to be the guinea pig right now

He didn't seem to be immediately familiar with what tails the amg comes with, but rather based his info on the fact that i claimed to have some LEDs on my tails. Maybe someone want to contact Depo directly and get a definite answer?

"Thank you for contacting us about this - If you state that you have LED Tail Lights from stock (LED Turn Signals) then these will NOT be compatible with your vehicle.

These tail lights are ONLY compatible with models without ANY LEDs at all, which unfortunately, doesn't match your description of your vehicle."

Seller emailed me back and says the connectors are different.

might just be a matter of splicing wires then. if it's not a load issue then these tails should be fine.

i found a pdf on depo's website with the product # http://www.depo.com.tw/asp/pdf/R_M_BZ_3.pdf

looks like there's an unsmoked version too.

I e-mailed depo about the incompatibility. maybe they will confirm that it's just a connector issue

Maybe someone with non LED turns can post pics of their connector so you can compare.

ordered these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/151317673321...84.m1497.l2648

but they look exact to oem, I like the amber side markers, and they come plug and play for the 2008-2011 models.

now finally a tail light that caligreenzzzz can't knock to relieve himself when he realizes he paid $700+ for his tail light upgrade

OH man dont' start a flame war in here please . I've seen the outcome with these tail lights he said he said . But I'm curious to see how these will work on yours as I too have LED turns stock. Maybe I can get them too and sell my 2012 rear SAM + FL tail I originally bought to put some funds into my future DAS/xentry purchase . I too thought all c63 had LED turns. But that's interesting. You figure you spend that much on car it would come with lighting package.

Those tail lights do not look like the OEM ones at all.

AZNMode, whatever tail lights you bought look exactly like OEM. These do not.

They have a down slope across the edges that include a dark film around the LED turn signals.

Also, a family member has had bad experience with the company DEPO. My brother has a 335i and decided to go budget and buy DEPO tail lights for his car.

The outcome:

Fell apart in two weeks(the reflectors and plastic material inside the tail light)

Lighting started to become dim after a week of use.

Didn't look like OEM and had a shade of dark within the housing.

I advise to go OEM or whatever one AZNMode purchased. If you go OEM, there is a guaruntee in quality, no dimming, no aesthetic issues, no condensation/water issues. I've seen OEM tail lights from a facelift model for around $200....on eBay

They're smoked. The dark tint is intentional. Lens aside, they look like the OEM ones to me. Do you spot any other differences in internal layout aside from disliking the tinted lens? Remember, they do have a part # for the non-smoked version.

The Depo blacklines for the e90 had production issues in the first run. The light rods were falling out. They too are intentionally smoked darker. Future versions did not have the build quality issues.

I don't understand the logic behind looking at a photo, buying what you see, receiving exactly what you see, then complaining about it

I'll wait till you buy them.... Then I'll do a side by side comparison. There obviously is a physical downward slope on the side edges of the tail light housing.

Looks can be deceiving as always, when looking at pictures of aftermarket parts, shipped across seas. Then when you open the box, you frown to dissatisfaction.

If they had productions issues in the first run with blacklines for the 335i, let us hope there are no production issues with these tail lights for the w204.Anyways, even if there was production issues, it should not happen unless it lacks of premium quality. Thus, the blacklines...

My apologies, did not realize the dark tint was intentional. Just another physical observation from OEM. I figured you wanted exactly OEM aesthetics.

Also you may hear some buzzing sounds, Why? Due to the resistors to block error codes from happening. (If these fit Pre-Facelift)

If they do not, an error code will be present.

This site sells them too but you can get them in clear turns. Still says not made for cars with led turns.

@W204_Generic I can't discern the difference. I think mine had slopes too. This one also has the vents on the side like oem. Brake lights and reverse looks halogen like oem. Number of leds on the turn signal is same count like oem. But like you said won't be able to compare till someone actually receives them and post pics. I wonder if the smoke turns are the only ones that they can sell on ebay since that allows it to pass any copyright issue.

i e-mailed the seller asking why they won't work and he just regurgitated that they won't fit LED equipped cars.

I really don't think these sellers know much about the product.

Looking forward to LandSeaAir's trial

That's interesting. I'm looking at the connector and it looks to be correct like it will fit mine so ya they're probably clueless. I wonder if I can just buy the cable that has the resistors to test on my FL one. It seems to be detachable and not soldered in. That will allow me to keep my FL tail lights.
