Audio 20 with UMI, possibility to add Rear View Camera?

Hello,

i have a W204 pre-facelift and upgraded to original mercedes benz navigation by buying the UMI/Navigation 20 for my Audio 20.

Is there any way to add a rear view camera to my system? If i purchase and install this : Veyron VI-MBC Reverse Camera/Video Interface for Mercedes-Benz W204 C-Class

will my UMI/Navigation 20 still work or can i connect the two somehow?

If there is an easier option please let me know:)

Thanks!

Yes that would work, but I believe you still need the actual camera. I'm adding almost the same interface to the wife's GLK, and should be putting up a how to, which will be the same for the C. I ordered this one:

thanks so much for replying! thought nobody knew anything about this haha. Do you think it'll be a problem tho that i have already added the UMI to my C class. As in already have one thing in between stock head unit and monitor. If i was to add the video interface im not sure if that would work as well. Does your wife's GLK (nice car btw :) ) have the UMI too?

stock: audio 20 head unit -> monitor
UMI: audio 20 head unit -> UMI unit -> monitor
UMI + VI: audio 20 head unit -> UMI unit -> VI -> monitor (or VI first?)

i don't want to spend lots of money for it to not be compatible :(

2013 Mercedes Benz C250
I just got my C250 and the dealer said its navigation ready but didnt come with the navigation. How do I add the navigation to it? I got the car from Texas Direct Auto so they really dont know too much about the cars.

Can someone give me some advice pleeeeease?

My wife's GLK doesn't have the UMI, but they should still work the same as you'll just run it in line all the same. It just needs to have the video interface as the first thing. Think that the reverse cam needs to override the other inputs or it will never trigger. Besides, I thought that the UMI was more of an integrated/coded by the dealer thing, so you shouldn't have a big issue hooking it up as the connections will be the same.

I haven't actually heard of these being "navigation ready." I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you'd have to go aftermarket using the same interface we've referenced above, and then get a universal nav of some sort to add onto the rgb input of the interface. Hope that helps.
