08/09 side mirror cover removal

Can anyone tell me how to remove the housing of the side mirrors on a 2008/2009 C-class (with pics maybe)? I found a video about the newer 10/11 mirrors (pretty much pull up) and I saw some vague info about removing the glass but all I want to do is get to the led on the signals and air that area out since there is condensation in there. I'd also like to seal it up a little bit better also, hopefully stop whatever leak is causing it.

Thanks.

Tilt glass forward so you can access the inside from above, use a small screwdriver to unhook the small plastic clasps surrounding the motor, pull glass gently outwards at the same time,

Cover is just snapped on but sits hard, you need to pry open the latches using a screwdriver, reassemble with a firm strike with hand.

Insert glass in same position and press firmly in place, listen for a "click"

Dang, so there's no way to do it without removing the glass? I'm not sure if I want to attempt it and possible break it, unless it's not that difficult.

Is there a better way to remove the moisture? Hair dryer? Then seal around the perimeter of the clear turn signal it with some silicon or something?

You most likely need to replace the indicator unit, and it is only sold with a complete mirror cover, then you need to remove your glass anyways.
