New To Mercedes Benz, Have A Few Questions
Hey guys so I am just about to purchase my first mercedes. I have a few quick questions. I am buying a 2012 C300 with 26,000 miles. It has warranty left for 16 months or so and the 50,000 miles whichever comes first. My question is should I get an extended warranty? I have heard the C300 is well built and doesn't have any obvious concerns but what do you guys think? Is there anything in particular I should look for in this specific year and model before buying? I am buying from a local Carmax so I am not very concerned about getting it checked out etc, I am just really concerned about the warranty issue. Thank you, by the way I am very excited to finally own a Mercedes as I have been wanting one for quite some time.

Congrats on your soon to be purchase. Honestly its a 50/50 about the extended warranty. Its always great to have more warranty because these things are expensive to fix.
I honestly thing get the car checked at an authorized mercedes dealer (other then the one you are buying from) and then decide if you need the warranty or not.
Congrats

Not sure if you know, but if you get it CPO from the dealership they'll add a year and unlimited miles to your original warranty.
Just make sure to keep it up to date with the maintenance and it'll treat you good.

2013 C300 4MATIC Sport sedan
And the promotion only lasts until tomorrow!
I was in the same boat, originally looking at Carmax for a C300. But we went to MB just to check out what they'd give for our trade... we ended up finding a courtesy vehicle that was a year newer and not listed on their site, but just a bit more than we originally wanted to spend. It was worth it for the maintenance and warranty till 2018!

I agree, look for a CP0 car. Also be aware every 20k there is an expensive service. At 40k the trans. fluid should/must be changed at a cost of around $600.

not sure about over there, but private dealer extended warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on here in Australia.
Benz extended warranty is a different story though.
