Check Oil at Next Gas station

Thanks Stiggs for telling me to post in C Class. Subtle

The week before I had schedule an oil change I started getting this message after driving for a few miles. I checked the oil and it was between the level of reasonableness stated in owners manual. I changed the oil this weekend and as soon as I left the garage the message popped up again. Obviously the oil is at the needed level since it was just filled and checked. What would cause that?

I drive a 2006 C280.

A MY2006 would be a W203 forum question

I would think who ever did the oil change, put in the same amount they took out. This happen to me and all it needed was some extra oil. Get Mobil 1 0w-40 229.5 oil which is recommended for mercedes.

Make sure it isn't overfilled. Just had this on my other car. The dealer had maxed out the replacement and ended up having to drain it all back out while at temperature and then put in the correct amount.

Since the problem started before the oil change this is probably just an outside chance. But you never know. Cheaper than changing the sensor.
