Wheel Question from me the Noob

Hey guys I looked into this on the forum and Im just confused.
I want to buy these wheels from ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/201110651244...S:1123&vxp=mtr

Now I asked the seller if these will fit my 2012 C350 4matic, sellers says yes with a 45mm offset. Is this correct? I have no idea on offsets and how they work.
Can anyone help me out if this is correct or not?

Thanks guys.

Will definitely fit. ET45 with that width is pretty conservative

Although, I note the Ebay listing says ET35 which is pretty aggressive. You may need a bit of stretch in the tyres if that is the case

when you say conservative do you mean it will have an OEM look? Would that offset look good considering I have a 4matic (if that make a huge difference) I want the car to have an oem look to a 507 ( I know it will never be a 507) or close to.
Will the 45mm do that if not what offset should I be looking for here?

I mean conservative in that it isn't pushing the boundaries. You won't need to camber the wheels in, you won't need tyre stretch to prevent rubbing. It should fit well. It won't be super flush though.

I suggest having a scan through these two threads for some idea of what different size and offsets will give you:

You'll also want to check out this website, Willtheyfit.com

It gives you a good idea of how different wheel specs will differ from OEM.

Then in regard to tire stretch there is tyrestretch.com to see different tire models and sizes fit different wheel specs.

ok so I read though the sites so what if I got the same wheels as I the link I provided in my initial post but in 35mm offset, then that would work and be flush correct?

With stretched tyres it will work. I suggest something around 215 fronts and 235 rears. That's what I am running with the same offset.

They won't be flush though, they will extend past the guard by around 5-10mm

Man, Im really not getting this. The only other offset the seller can get is 42mm how would that work then? Should be more "flush" and no rubbing issues, if I have understood anything.

Would a oem set of 19" E63 wheels fit my C350 4matic then?

The ET42 option will be flusher - it own't poke out like the ET35s will. Basically, the lower the number the further out it will stick. 42 will be reasonably flush.

I have no idea what the OEM E63 offset is but refer to above. If you want flush, stick to 38-42 or thereabouts. If you like poke you can go as low as you like really (within reason). I have lowered my car but run ET31 on the front with stretched rubber

Thanks AusMB87 for all your help. So ET42 will work best and it will work on a 4Matic correct?

ET42 will work on a 4matic. 'Best' is personal preference mate. ET35 works best in my opinion because I like them to poke out. If the description of ET42 fitment above sounds good to you then you have your answer

ET42 sounds perfect...to me. I just want flush or closest to without rubbing problems. Oh man getting excited to get these wheels now. to bad winter is pretty much here so will have to wait to get the rubber on them and try them on...or is it?..hmmm
