Unhappy Temperature Gauge Dead

while driving suddenly my temperature needle went down and the car lose power. Then a few seconds back to normal. Now the temperature gauge between 70'c-90'c. Not accurate or stick to one degrees. It's there possibility I have to change the temperature sensor? Or might be other things?

Thermostats gone. The temperature fluctuation is a typical indication when it fails. Get it replaced as soon as you can
