Service A due
Hi,
New member here
My 2014 C-350 Coupe has done 7000 miles and is displaying that Service A is due. My understanding is that this service is due after 10,000 miles, I bought the car 11 months ago. So my question is, should I get the Service A done now or should I wait until the car has actually done 10,000 miles?
Also, how many of you prefer to use independent repair shops over the stealerships?
Thanks!

Independents are fine if they have enough experience. Surprised that the service is due at 7000 miles. My 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013 all are on 10k mile schedules here in the states. Did MB change the maintenance schedule in 2014?

My '08 went every 13K miles to the mile for 120K and no problems. My 14 I started worrying about it around 7500 and changed it at 9K miles. All will be fine No problems!!
RP
PS in '08 the interval was 13K miles. After that they reduced it to 10K, not sure why.

I agree, but being that the A service is relatively inexpensive it might be wise to let the dealer do it to establish a relationship with them

Pretty sure Service A is 10k miles or 12 months-whichever comes first- so it coming on at 11 months shouldn't be surprising. Get it done- it's basically an oil change, and nothing compared to a Service B in terms of price.

Dealer near me claims to have one of the cheapest Service As in the US and its $99.
Service B will run you about $500 and add about $400 to that if you're doing a transmission service, which you apparently should do every 39k miles.

Thanks a lot guys for all your replies. I will get a quote from the dealer that sold me the car and go there if it is reasonable. They need to adjust the shift adaptations anyway as some of the shifts are harsh. I'm amazed that MB has not fixed what seems to be a common problem, my wife's 2014 CRV and even my son's Ford do not have similar tranny problems.
