Someone hit me. Pictures from my Accident in my 2014 C250.

Driving in the right lane when a pickup on the opposite side of the road made a U-turn into my lane. I hit the brakes and swerved into the left lane to avoid, but the other driver did the same thing. My car got wedged between the curb and a large pickup, so naturally, the car jumped the curb. Blew both front tires and cracked 2 rims. Other driver was cited and their insurance accepted full liability.

Took it to a Mercedes collision center and its still not done. Been almost 3 months. Extensive suspension damage, but things are wrapping up now.

Total damages with parts and labor is sitting at around $22k.

I had just clayed my car the week before. Shame.

If that is 22k in damages, you must have to replace the entire front suspension plus all the pick up points.

Maybe this is 22k canadian?

EDIT: NVM.....just noticed it is a 2014. Not being totaled with 22k is still possible.

dam man! 22k for damages its lot judging from the pics. but then again not sure whats inside/underside. 22k in damages its not going to drive the same. since its 2014 i would fight for it to be total and just get another 2014. unless you dont mind.

LOL, insurance companies are always like that pulling a fast one. A pain in the *** to deal with. This case its worst its the other party insurance that is looking/fixing the car. they will fix it as cheap as possible. That is why they didnt total it out in the first place.
OP who's party insurance adjuster came to look at the car? or the place you took it to gave you the price?

Front suspension was replaced along with steering rack and tie rod. Front and rear bumpers were replaced along with the passenger front quarter panel, passenger mirror, and passenger headlight housing. The hood was replaced because there was a minor bend, and a piece chipped off when the repair center attempted to restore the shape. 2 rims replaced, and 2 rims refinished. All 4 tires replaced with brand new ones (with no charge for betterment!)

The impact felt surprisingly severe. I was certain the car was totaled before I got out to see the damage. At first I was shocked that the damage looked so minor. Unfortunately there was a lot of underlying damage. If the airbags had deployed, it would have been a write-off for sure.

All replacement parts are OEM.

I thought about this one for 2 days after the accident. The other party's insurance accepted liability and told me they will take care of everything, but I decided to file through my own insurance instead. I have better communication because I am their customer, and I had more control over the repairs. I have Geico, so I got to choose where my car went. I went with the Mercedes dealership's collision center.

I bought the front grille from ukstylings on eBay. Arrived via DHL in 2 days. Link to the listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151187859422...S:1123&vxp=mtr

(he was asking for pictures after installing, and refunded me some money on PayPal for permission to use the pictures in his listing. That's actually my car shown)

The grille looks great and fits perfectly. Took less than 15 minutes to install too.

Thanks everyone for the support. Since it's a Mercedes certified repair, they will continue to fix it doesn't drive the same, even after the repairs are complete. I'm still afraid that it won't feel the same.

I'm sorry to hear that, let us know and show whether the dealership collision center are good enough or not. My old 06 VW Jetta GLI didn't make it, the gap between the passenger-side headlight and fender are noticeable and the motor on the headlight projector doesn't feel the same anymore

Glad that you haven't had any issues. But this is exactly why I just installed a dash cam in my new mercedes. I do not trust anyone to be honest when it comes to auto accidents

How much it cost to install your dash cam? I was actually thinking on doing that, but I wonder how do you keep the record of all the driving you do, the videos will take a lot of memory space to record right?

Installed it myself, and the video loops over and rewrites unless an event is triggered, in which case it is locked onto the card

It's amazing how expensive it is to repair a German car. I was opening the door of my Cayman S and a passing van clipped it, just enough to bend the edge. The door still opened and closed fine. Total repair was $15,000. The car only had 4500 miles and insurance protocol is to paint the entire driver's side of the car to ensure color match.

The dash cam is a great idea. I would like a hidden one, not slapped on the windshield.

Is this US or canadian? 15k for a Cayman door? Guess I'll be giving them 911 drivers a little bit more room on the freeway.

isn't there any insurance term called comprehensive? it's an option we could get here in US in case anything happened to our car when it is parked.
