2013 C250 SEDAN SPORT GEAR SLIP
Does anyone feel like their 2013 c250 slips gear every now and then? Feels like the car has a lag time while switching gears. I remember my dad asking the dealer about it while test driving the car and he was saying the cars are supposed to be like that because the v4 turbo and rpm spikes or something. Didn't really catch what he was saying at the time.

I do realize my 2013 C250 doesn't drive smoothly when it's cold and when it's in the low gears area. Well, at least compared to my buddy's 2009 C300 that drives super smooth as far as I can remember driving it.

I have a '12 250, and i noticed that it does like to stay in a higher gear for fuel economy I suppose, and the direct injection engine is a bit chattery.
It's an inline 4 by the way, and there is a significant "turbo lag" after a while you just learn to drive with it. I have had my car for just over a year, and I barely even notice it anymore.

There are tuners out there that claim to help this out, there is a box that changes the accelerometer curve, and that is supposed to help. Do your research here in the forums, search for "turbo lag" and you will find a whole lot of threads.

Yes, there is nothing that can really be done to eliminate this. you can do the accelerometer reset thing, (turn the key on, hold the gas pedal down for 30 seconds or something like that, then turn the key off) you can look that procedure up here in the forum. That helps things seem more responsive. I have found that the car appears to "learn" how I drive, in other words, the more aggresively I drive it, the better it seems to be. Is this a placebo effect? who knows.
