Clunk In The Front End

I took my '12 250 in for service due to a clunk in the front end when backing up and turning, which to my suprise, they were able to reporoduce by backing up in a figure eight pattern. Here is what was replaced:
  • 4 211-333-06-97 ELASTOMERIC CUP
  • 2 204-333-11-14 HYDROMOUNT
  • 4 000000-003281 NUT
  • 331426 BUSHINGS ON BOTH STRUT RODS REPLACE
38075 performed LI 33.15-P-047471 thrust arm bushings worn/noise

Found LI33.15-P-047471 applicable to this vehicle.

my question is what does this last number indicate? what is an Elastomeric cup, and what is an Hydro mount?

The suspension components have a silicon filled bushings. Sounds like they replaced all the steering bushings with new ones. The last number is probably a service campaign, which isnt serious enough to warrant a full-on recall

The service campaign is probably correct.

I wonder if others had had this issue as well? for there to be a campaign it sounds like it may be a common issue.

Anybody else hearing a clunk or other noise while backing up with the wheel turned, or out of a driveway?

I have the same issue 2013 c250. Backing up from my drive way I hear the clunking noise from front passenger side. Just dropped off my car at the dealer 2 days ago. No news as of yet. Plus I've been having weird issue with fluctuating rpm needle.

The noise I heard seemed to be coming from the passenger side as well. If they tell you that nothing is wrong, point them in this direction. However, the fact that they have had it for two days tells me that they may have found something. They are usually pretty quick to tell you that there's nothing wrong.

Good luck

Common problem since w203 era...
https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...trol-20arm.jpg

Those dam bushings crack and leak fluid after about 30k miles.

Elastomeric cups are just some rubber cups to protect the bushings from elements.
They only replaced 2 upper control arm bushings since it's what usually goes bad.

Question: If I want to replace all front control arm bushings..how many do I need to buy?

2 for upper and 2 for lower? or just 2 for upper?

Thanks

2 and 2.

AFAIK they have different part numbers.
Usually only the uppers go out, they are less robust.
