W204: C-class 4Matic COILOVERS NOT KW's. Need 5 people to buy in.
So I had a long back story typed and my browser decided to crash. And since I am in no mood to type that long thing again, I'll keep it short and sweet now and update this later when I've cooled off.
I'm new to the Mercedes world but not to car modding. I was very distraught to see the only coilover option was from KW being the V3's. With a steep price tag and not the best of reviews on them. I went hunting for a company to make a suitable, reasonably priced coilover with substantial drops and ride quality.
AND I HAVE GOOD NEWS
I have found a company who would like to produce a coilover setup for the W204 4Matic C-class. They have simply asked that I find only 5 more people, that's right it only will take 5 more people to get these made.
Company's website:
http://www.standardsuspension.com
The R1 coilover system they proposed:
http://www.standardsuspension.com/r1-suspension-system/
Specific info on the R1 setup:
- 12 Level adjustable damping
- Exclusive measurement system (Laser engraved)
- Monotube design
- Molybdenum* rod
- Adjustable ride-height -0.5” to -4.5”
- Separate ride-height and spring pre-load
- Forged aluminium parts
- Anodized & powder coated finish
- Custom spring rate (Comfortable to Racing)
- Custom internal valving
- Short cartridge for lower application
- Fully adjustable
- Air upgradable
The 2015 model comes with the new color, Black Springs, Anodized Grey to remplace the Cyan blue. Dark Blue Metallic Lock Ring. With all hardware in Stainless Steel.
Now onto pricing and what they've requested; the company (I've been in contact with their sales rep named Dave) has priced out the kits to be right around the $1,100.00 mark for a full setup. The way they wanted this to work: they asked for a 70% deposit to begin CNC programming, 3D measurements and weight calculations. And then the remaining 30% paid on shipment of finished setups. Which I find understandable and fair. Can't expect them to do all the leg work without any deposit, in case people get cold feet and bail, and they get stuck with these coilovers that they don't usually sell.
Anyway, that's all the info I have. They are ready to roll as soon as I find 5 more people to buy into the project.
ANY QUESTIONS OR INFO, please do not hesitate to contact me on here or via email at Justin.Humphreys90@gmail.com and even via text on my cell at (732) 557- one eight two eight.
I think this is a great opportunity for us 4Matic C-class owners and we should take advantage of it.
Hope to talk to 5 of you soon,
Justin

From what Ive talked about with the company. Whenever I have the people together we can get it going, so no time limit. But obviously sooner rather than later would be ideal.
