Best Setup for QUIET Quad Exhaust on C250

So I am going to take the plunge on installing quad exhaust on my C250 but I just want to change the look and not the sound. I know there are a ton of posts on this, trust me I have been looking at them all for about 3 weeks now, but I want to know what the best setup is to get the look and not change the sound.

I don't like the crossover exhaust deals because I figure for what they cost I could have a custom setup and they just don't jive with me.

I am looking at installing a long muffler behind the resonator with a dual out and doing pipes straight out the back or if I have to adding another two mufflers at the diffuser.

Despite my ideas, what are some of your thoughts on the best setups that don't change the sound that much.

Thanks for any input and please refrain from any poser comments because they will not affect my decision in any way. I am getting the gas mileage of a c250 with the look of a C63. I call it the C18, so technically its a FrakenBenz ... all my own creation. >;-)

what's the point of this thread then? you already know what you're doing so are you fishing for something here?
So you have a C250 that looks like a C63 and you want to keep it sounding like a C250...

Would buying a exhaust of a wrecked c300 be an option? Then you just need to add the tips. I'm not sure how far back they're different. Might be as simple as changing the diffuser and bolting it up.

Well... For most it would be explained by what I wrote but I guess for people like you, it's to post pictures of their push up bra. Thanks for the idea of what I may get my wife for her birthday, though.

I would love to find a salvage exhaust from a C300 but I doubt there would be one around here and I am sure that having it shipped would make it pretty pricey. Although, I am going to call around. Thanks for the idea.

Awesome, thanks for the help! As for the bra lingo, that's new and interesting, thanks for interpreting it for me.

Or just go to your local muffler shop and have them custom install some magnaflow mufflers with tips on.

This is where I am torn. I don't know what would be quieter, two magnaflows at the diffuser with the rest of the exhaust stock or one Magnaflow at the mid muffler and no mufflers at the diffuser. Or would a Magnaflow at mid and 2 Magnaflowsvat the diffuser be best? I wish I knew the best combo.

Well to be honest, if you keep your stock mid section and ran 2 magnaflow chambered mufflers at the end, the car isn't pushing out enough gas to really bellow out too much noise. The stock resonator is actually quite large.

I have a Rado - down pipe and mid-pipe , magnaflow muffler 1 - 2 set-up, and straight pipes to quad tips. The drone can be loud at a cold start, but it's not bad once the car is warm. I really don't like the sound (too raspy), so I'm thinking about installing two Magnaflow mufflers at the tips to quiet it down.

Can you post any pictures of your exhaust configuration?

Always wanted to do a dual exhaust on my C220 but, according to my warranty manual this would invalidate the warranty. In my case it doesn't matter any more as its past that point but yours seems quite new. Is it worth it? It'll never sound like a C63.

To the OP, TheRulesLawyer recommendation is your best bet. Keep your existing driver side OEM muffler. Look for a used pax side C300 or C350 OEM muffler for cheap. Then get a Y pipe and quad tips of your choice plus a C63 diffuser. Go to a reputable muffler shop and they'll figure it all out for you.
