stock wheel stain removal

Hello everyone. I've recently bought an 08 C300 Sport 4matic. The front rims look to be stained in some places. Probably from someone using wrong stuff to clean.
I stumbled across people saying oven cleaner works great. Will it damage the stock rim finish? Is there something to get the wheel clean safer than oven cleaner if so? I've tried one rim cleaner but it didn't work.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You can see how the stains are like some sort of liquid stains. You can see the drop marks

Might be able to polish that off it it's sitting on the clear only. Do a test spot first and maybe step up the polish intensity depending on results.

What should I use to polish it?

If you don't want to delve into the fancy stuff and keep it strictly OTC, you can try Megs Ultimate Compound. There are a few lighter stuff out there that include drill attachment foam, but might not be aggressive enough.

Someone used seriously harsh chemicals on the wheels and peeled off the clear coating. I always use Sonax wheel cleaner. Been using it from my Audi days and works very well. Sprays yellow and turns purple. Comes off easily with water. No scrubbing needed.
Best of luck.

Well I got the mag and aluminum polish then realized it said not to use on coated metal, ugh. Tried a spray by Maguire but it didn't work. Used a fine brillo pad lightly and it got most off without hurting clear coat.
Will order the stuff you just mentioned and try that

Check this out.

There are 2 kinds. The regular one and the extreme. The basic one is powerful enough to remove most of the daily use.

Is not cheap but better than most if not all.

Best of luck.
