ATF Fluid
I have a 2009 C300 54000 miles. I think this will be he first ATF change. I want to use Pentosin full synthetic. Will this be a problem? Is there a problem using this, as there will still be some original MB ATF in the trans? Thanks

I understand that!!! Just bought the car.. Need a little info is all. The question is, if it is ok to use full synthetic, when changing from original MB ATF?

The new fluid will be contaminated with old fluid, members will tell you this is not okay and should drain the TC. I will tell you from my experience, a simple fluid change is fine. My existing fluid was clean, transparent, didn't smell burnt, and its lubricity was clearly still present. Be sure to change the filter, clean the magnets, clean the pan, and replace the gasket and you should be good to go. Any bit of dirt or metallic debris from the old fluid still in the torque converter and tranny will be picked up by the new filter and magnet anyway.

I bought Titan 4134. Tell you the truth, I am not really sure what trans I have in the 09 C-300 AWD, I assume it's a 722.9. Not sure why it's such a secret. None of the MB manuals tell you. "A dealer item" I guess.

You bought the correct fluid (red) and you do have the pre-2010 (not "plus") 722.9 transmission. It's not a secret; your decoded VIN will say for sure if you want peace of mind.

Got it, cool. Thanks.. I did see the 14 digit engine number, now I know it is the rest of the 2729 number.
