Thinking ahead for the winter.
Have a set of wheels that I am planning to paint black and throw some tires for the winter months here in NJ and I was wondering. If I choose not to spend on TPMS sensors, besides the annoying icon on my display, am I risking anything else? Of course the risk of getting a flat and not knowing. Please let me know so I can start pulling them out of the garage.

I've had nothing but trouble with aftermarket TPMS sensors, even the ones that claim they're 433Mhz. The seller "tpmssale" on eBay sells genuine sensors for $169 a set of 4, they're around $144 per sensor from the dealer.
I have a set of Dorman sensors (cost about $33 per sensor, not including shipping) in my winter wheels and summer wheels. Both sets consistently lose communication with the car and cause the warning light to flash. This happens every 20mins or so while driving, then they'll reconnect.
For the extra $30 or so it's worth it to get genuine sensors.
