what package is my 2012 C250

New owner of 2012 C250 Sport. I'd like to know what package I have. The car has navigation, Harman Kardon stereo, back-up camera, heated front seats, the lane-blind spot warning, ESP, etc. I note that my model has No Paddle Shifters. Is it because my transmission only has "E" and "S" options and I would need to have the manual "M" option? Actually, I don't care about having paddle shifters.

Another issue is that on accelerating from a standing stop with AC Off, I have a whistle/whining sound that seems to diminish at highway speeds.

Your help is appreciated

Cheers

What specific pics should I take of the car that will give you hint to what it is?
Like I mentioned, don't care about the paddle shifters but would like to know why my specific model does not have them.

I may be wrong, but I'm not sure if there's only one package. I found this from autoblog, which seems to confirm what I was thinking. Take a look at these and see which apply:

Mercedes offers several options packages for the C-Class. Premium 1 Package ($2,500) for the C250 sedan and C300 includes a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, heated 14-way power front seats with lumbar adjustment, split-folding rear seat, harman/kardon sound system, satellite radio, iPod/MP3 player interface, and memory for the driver's seat, mirrors, and steering wheel. The Premium 1 Package for the C250 coupe ($1,995) has the heated front seats, harman/kardon sound system, satellite radio, and iPod/MP3 player interface.

A Multimedia Package ($2,690) has a navigation system with voice recognition and traffic information, a rearview camera, COMAND control system, AM/FM radio with in-dash 6CD/MP3 changer, 10-gigabyte music hard drive, iPod/MP3 player interface, and an SD card reader. A Dynamic Handling Package offers speed-sensitive power steering, steering-wheel shift paddles, electronic suspension control, P225/40R18 front and P255/35R18 rear tires, and sport settings for the throttle, steering and suspension. A Lane Tracking Package ($850) comes with Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist. COMAND, which comes with a central control knob and a music hard drive, is offered by itself ($930) or with a 6-disc in-dash CD changer ($1,330).

Standalone options include leather upholstery ($1,750), 18-inch alloy wheels ($1,040), roof spoiler ($300), trunklid spoiler ($300), power rear sunshade ($440), Keyless Go keyless access and starting ($650), iPod/MP3 interface ($310), satellite radio ($460), burl walnut wood interior trim ($325), heated front seats ($750), panorama sunroof ($1,090), rearview camera ($460), rear side airbags for the sedan ($420), front and rear park assist ($970), AM/FM radio with in-dash 6-disc CD changer ($480), a rear DVD entertainment system ($1,910), a Lighting Package ($985) with steering-linked adaptive bi-xenon headlights with washer, and Mercedes' mbrace mobile app ($660).

Well, I've got everything in the Premium 1 package and some of the things in the Multimedia package.

I've got the Comand, keyless go, leather seats, back-up camera no hard drive that I know of. No dynamic handling. I do have lane tracking. Heated front seats 18" alloy wheels

I notice that Premium 1 package does not mention paddle shifters.

So I think I've got Premium 1 package and a bunch of stand alone options.

The hard drive is easy to miss - I know mine has it, because I've run across it by accident, but I wouldn't remember how to get to it. I personally don't use it or really see a need for it. I make a new DVD with a few hundred MP3's every month to listen to.

Thanks for your reply.

Does anyone know what could be the whistling/whining sound when accelerating from standing stop? Kind of annoying. The turbo isn't spooling up at normal accelerating is it? My first turbo car so I'm just getting used to it. Coming from a Lexus IS which is a good car but not very exciting

I'll complicate things further.

Do you have a 6 disc changer or a single cd/dvd?

In 2012, the multimedia package was limited availability, despite being in the brochures and on the website. Instead, MB had the COMAND Launch S32 and COMAND Launch S34 packages. S32 has everything the Multimedia package has except for the reverse camera and it has a single DVD player, and S34 has the 6 disc DVD player but still no backup cam - although I've never actually. You can add the cam to each of those packages for $460.

COMAND Launch S32 + Backup camera was like $1,390 and S34 + Cam was like $1,790. The MM package was marketed at $2,790. It makes no sense.

As far as whining, my A/C compressor is audible all of the time on my car - particularly when it is hot out and is fully engaged. It's a slight whine throughout the RPM range. It seems the A/C compressor does not shut off immediately when you turn it off - perhaps that is what you are hearing?

Thanks for your response.

Yes, I do have the back-up camera. Don't know if I have the 6CD changer, I haven't put a CD in yet. The car streams bluetooth great and I can listen to all the music on my iPhone including Spotify.

Dealer took a ride with me and said what I'm hearing is the turbo. I didn't know you could hear it in 1st gear but I guess it's just spooling up?

I drive in S mode and it seems to alleviate most of the lag. Right now I'm happy with the car coming from a Lexus IS 250 which was very reliable and ran great but was no where near as sporty in handling and acceleration as the C 250

Cheers

It is so much easier if you just put your car VIN.

Update on my 2012 C250

I posted concerning what package I had several months ago after purchase. It seems hard to tell what package one might have when you can buy so many options separately

On further inspection: I do have the smart card, it's on the bottom left of cd player. 6 disc CD player. Harman Kardon sound, sirius radio (which I don't use, I use Spotify which streams perfectly from iPhone 6). 18" wheels, front heated seats, lane assist (turned off, I find it intrusive every time someone pulls up alongside of you).

Drive in "S" 90% of the time. Much more responsive. I've done TCU reset; as soon as you drive a day in traffic it goes back to granny mode. Happy with the car so far. I'm coming from a 2008 Lexus IS 250. Great reliability and great service at dealer in Los Angeles. IS was not as quick as C250. C250 pulls much better and feels a little bit more sporty. Hoping my interaction at Mercedes dealer will be as pleasant as Lexus dealer.

Cheers

Just subscribe, put in your VIN and then go to data card link.

You will have to input a CC, but Mercedes does not charge you for the service. You can find every part for your car in addition to finding option that is installed on your vehicle.
